Myrtle Davis Livesay Raber, having walked through this vale of tears, left this world June 4, 2012. Born in Illinois on October 16, 1920, to J. Lloyd and Sarah Livesay, she went to Indiana University and taught Latin, English and mathematics in West Lebanon, Indiana, and Mariemont, Ohio.
She was married 56 years to John Raber, who after service in the military, was a well-known CPA in a large Indiana accounting firm.
She loved singing and sang in choruses throughout high school, college and 35 years at Epworth United Methodist Church. She also sang in the Sound of Indy chapter of Sweet Adelines.
She volunteered for the Indianapolis Symphony as a city tour guide and at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
She was preceded in death by husband John M. Raber and daughter Frances Raber Shultz, and is survived by daughter Melinda Raber McCain and son John R. Raber, along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
There are no public services planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church building fund.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Myrtle Raber. May we all look forward to the fulfillment of the Bible’s prophecy when all things like pain, sickness and death have passed away (Revelation 21:4). My sincerest condolences are with the family in this time of great sorrow.
